In the order of crappiness, I think the headers take 1st. When I say headers, I'm talking about passenger side, uppipe, and downpipe. They all need to be upgraded to go fast.

The stock intake isn't "that" bad. I don't think you will pick up much with a ported intake and stock motor.

I believe a hotair will run 11s on the stock intake. I don't believe it will with the stock header system.

When a car picks up 6mph from headers, you know something is wrong with the factory design.

OK guys.........straighten me out if I am wrong here, but wouldn't the restictive stock intake be worse then the restrictive stock passenger header?
I vote for V2 intake install and upgrade the header down the road. The stock intake is junk! The V2 flow almost twice as much and not to mention you can run an intercooler.

1QUICK85,
I agree with you!

You know, you guys may be onto something here ...........
Only way to find out is to log and analyze Boost vs. Back pressure data on that or similar set-up.

My $$$ is still on the header vs V2.

Come to think of it, a friend of mine trapped 105mph with a TA62 and KB headers and DP back in 1998. ET was just a 14.6 because the trans shop swapped in a D7 convertor and 60' was somewhere around a 3.0. Either way, it made some serious power for a stock motor with headers and turbo and it had much more left in it with race gas. I just can't see an intake making that kind of difference.

Well if you guys are talking headers + downpipe + up pipe then yes the intake takes a back seat. A nice set up would be keep the V2 and get full exhaust for the car too.
