One owner 12k 87 GN. Ordered this car late June 87, got it sept 87 paid 18k.Jan 88 transfer oversea's spent many years there. Hence the low miles. Dec 2012 had to take the factory tires off and replace. Car then was no longer a virgin. Here I am 9 months later and 20k poorer.I have a scan master and power logger.Thinking from what I read on this site I need to go with a wide band. What do I need to buy? I am unable to find anyone in the Charlotte NC that knows how to tune these car's You would think with NASCAR all over the place there would some old guy that would know these cars.So I guess this old man will have to learn myself. Please help.

You need to get in touch with NC Turbos here on the board. He can set you up right.

What do you want to do with the car? Does it have any upgrades other than tires and the scan tools?

I guess I'm looking to have this car for someone 25 years from now to have something very few will have. This car has never Been in the rain. I took the factory plastic off the back seat in 12/2012. There has never been anything in the trunk other then me putting the rear sent brace in. No one has been in the pass seat other then my wife one time. In the past she has asked why I don't let her ride in the car. I told her she might sneeze in it.LOl. The car has Spohn suspension front and back. Bilstein shocks front and back. The missing bodying bushings. Every brace you can buy. New variable springs, air bags,TA per. Alum cover with gridle kit. Baer disc brakes front and back. Moser axle's.Art Carr everything in the Trans.drive shaft loop. RJC motor brace.RJC power plate.RJC front mount inter cooler.TA49, 42# injectors w/ TT chip 3" S.Steel down pipe 3" S.Steel duel exhaust. HR poly motor and Trans supports.304 SSteel Trans and exhaust bracket.Alum rad. Duel fans. All the normal gauges.110 # value springs Alum and chrome every where. This is the short list. After buying the RJC front mount I'm trying to decide what I am going to do to the motor. Thinking I need to learn how to tune the car first

Whoa....impressive. Welcome back to the dark side

So you woke up one day and bought a bunch of stuff to devirgin this low mile car but won't let anyone sit in the passenger seat?

Yes saving this car for the next Gen. Have a 1969 SS Camaro 396/375 4 speed. Get our thrill's with this car

I would have left the car stock but to each their own I guess. You can get plenty out of the stock engine with more boost

With all the suspension and brake work you've done, it gives the appearance you are building a road course car. I am also thinking about getting a wide band.

You need to support higher boost first to make the kind of power a wide band will allow you to tune toward. Do you have an alky kit or run race gas all the time? And do you have a good fuel pump?

Yes I have an alky kit, not install yet. Have stop at this point. Trying to decide what I'm going to do next. I am retired and have time and money to play with it. Really want car that is bullet proof. I guess I will build a car that can run 10s and drive it like the high 12's or low 13's.yes hp fuel pump hot wire,ect..I came of age in the 60's we where stop light to stop light people. TA Per. Has a brand new all alum. Engine for sale good for 800 hp depending on tune. They want 16.9K for the motor.that may very well be my best bet. Then I will have a stock 12k motor as a spare.

In my opinion you have everything you need already. Good luck with the rest of the build. Since you have time on your hands, spend more time now and less money. Get what you have working well. Write or call the guy that was suggested. You don't need 800HP to do what you want to do.

I know that you are so right. If I were to buy this motor, would not finish it with 800 hp. Maybe 450 to 500 hp.
