I was on the impression that everything was stock. Factory everything except hoses and wires. Took the car apart for so,e spring cleaning. And the turbo looks to be almost brand new with an adj waste gate. So I'm not sure if it's stock or not. How can I tell? Any numbers or marks I should look for? Here is a picture of it while working on it yesterday. (Turbo was sucking in oil from valve cover hence the oil you can see on the one housing) I know this isn't much to go by, but I'm sure some can just look and see if it's stock. I am not that guy. Thanks

It really looks like a factory stock turbo. The inlet bell is definitely stock if it was still connected to the valve cover.

look into the inlet bell ,if theres a step where bell meets compressor cover as in the cover is slightly smaller than the opening in the bell ... its stock

I'll check it out. I mean you can see the rust everywhere then it just stops at the turbo. It has all fresh white thread tape on all of the threads. Regardless the turbo is in great condition from what I can tell. Thanks for the input.

Teflon tape is a no no on oil feed threads and this can block oil to the Turbo. You are better off using non hardening thread sealent.

Like Loc tight of some sort? Car has not been driven much in the last 10 years just from what the record show on the car. So i think if anything did block the oil, it was not being put through long hard pulls.

The oil feed line is an inverted flare fitting and should not need any sealant and definitely do not use teflon tape, as already mentioned. It only takes a little stray piece of teflon tape to ruin your turbo. If you need to use a sealant use teflon paste.

Sounds good. I'll be taking the Teflon tape off tonight. Thanks
