I just picked up a 2004r to rebuild for my elcamino and can't locate any info about it. Can anyone here help or point me to a site that would id this transmission?
The info on the tag is = 148-891CTF0609

Code CTF probably came out of a chevy. If it has a blue tag it's an 86', if it's a yellow tag it came out of an 87'

It is the multi fit case; the valve body has 9017 D7 cast in it. A couple of covers in & on the transmission has the date 88 on them.

As mikestertwo said, the C = Chevy, I just noticed Dave's post = Caprice
148= day of year
89= year
1=1st shift
C= Chevy, T=??
F= 2004R
0609= serial number

"OG" is an Olds Cutlass with a 307 V8
