I have an 85 Grand National. Car sat for awhile and wasn't running when I bought it. 45K original miles.
I have put new plugs, wires, correct plug gap, new MAF, filter, and fuel filter. Car runs @ what I would call 80%.
If you quickly give it gas while in park it will choke/bog. If you gradually get in the gas, it does okay. It wants to bog at in 3rd gear at low RPM and isn't really drivable in OD because of this.
Car idles like it has a cam and evens rocks the car a bit, and as far as I know it is completely stock.
Turbo seems to spool fine at times, but doesn't have the boost or power that it should + I don't ever hear the wastegate like I did on my '87.
Is this due to a Vacuum issue...it's what I have been told? There is a vacuum line on the vacuum box that runs to the emissions ball along the passenger fender, the car wants to choke down when I connect this line, and runs better with it not connected. So that port is constantly pulling air. Also the first port on the backside of the box closest to the driver fender has been taped off.
The longer you drive the more the effects are noticeable. I know it can't be anything too serious because the car is definitely driveable. Any help would greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys!!
