i have a 93 nissan hardbody xe 4x4 witha 2.4 l . have trouble with tapping noise may be lifter rattel tryed everthing to fix any help would be apprieciate THANKS CK

i have a 93 240 if it sounds like the front of the engine is rattling its the chain tensioners, a common problem with the 2.4's If you give the car a little throttle does it go away? I would suggest putting thicker oil in it or just replacing the timing chain and tensioners

very common when i worked at nissan, but it takes 10 hours labor to change the chain.

I still see alot of timing chains fail from this motor at work. Other than that they run forever. I would take care of pretty quick. I have seen more than one where the guide broke and chain wears through timing cover and into water jacket. Coolant and oil does not mix to good and kills bearings. Also seen lifters need replacing have to replace the rocker arms.

what other forum is there? the guy own's a turbo buick, so why can't he ask a question about one of his other cars? good looking out for a fellow buick owner's prob, even if it's not about a t-b

if this was in other forums chances are it would never get answered.

So let me see if I understand you, You're saying the title of the forum "Turbo Buick Tech" is just there for decoration and is meaningless?
Why even have a Buick Tech forum is it's going to be polluted with non buick stuff????

The lounge for one. Why would it matter if he owns a buick? The question is totally unrelated to the forum we're in.
In case you missed it, the title of this forum is Turbo Buick Tech. Not not nissian(sic), not toyota, not ford.

What good are rules anymore?

I do find it interesting that the ones advocating breaking the simplest of rules are relative newcomers. Sign of the times I guess

rules are made to be broken:biggrin: , as far as new commers I was on gnttype for a while (4 years)and when their site went down I came here. Theres more important things to worry about that 1 thread non buick related, and at least he's not an import fag thats bragging about how fast his nissan is:rolleyes:

I'll assume that last crack was directed at me, so you know what you can do with it.
As for for the first one, that seems to be the prevailing attitude lately.
I guess that's the concensus, so I'll let it drop, since it seems to be a crime on here now to try and clerify the why's and wherefore's of rules.

I didnt notice your signature till now, that comment wasn't directed at you, it was just a generalization of people saying how fast thier 16sec car is. Wow its amazing how I can offend people without even realizing it. I am done with this thread the original question has been answered.

u know who u r

thanks to all for the help . and to the other one GET A LIFE!!!!!!!

dude, it's ok to let your sphinter relax! what doe's it matter that he own's a buick? that means he has a right to be on this site and ask what ever the hell he want's! you don't have to be so anal. ckmm, hope you got the info you needed to fix your car.
i see by your sig, that you own few deferent makes of car(honda). doe's that mean if you had a problem with one you wouldn't come on here to ask for help?
