There's no need for a clamp at the downpipe and test pipe/cat converter. The exhaust components aren't going anywhere and it doesn't need to be air tight since it is all exhaust gas post-turbo. As a matter of fact, most of the vendors who sell the 3" downpipes will tell you the same. It's also a good idea to allow a little flexibility in that area too.
