I know somebody that was gonna get single 3" all the way back but went for the dual mufflers 2.5" instead i myself am going with 3" dual mufflers all the way back i love the way dual exhaust looks all though i did hear the the single shot is great.

Has anyone went from a flowmaster to another system and seen any gain?
My T-Type has a flowmaster system and it seems to run good for the mods I think.

you are correct. I would have loved a stainless system too.. but at the cost and quality of the Hooker it was a no brainer. AND my GN is NOT an every day driver either so it never even sees rain..

No my hooker (that sounds so strange) was aluminized.

It was my daily driver up here in salt country so I am sure that didn't help either.

And don't forget the social aspect of being able to smile and say "why yes...that is stainless" :-)

I just don't want him thinking there is some reason other than $$ to avoid the ATR systems.

Yes!!

I just took off a flowmaster stock location set up and replaced it with the 2¾" exhaust set up from Full Throttle Speed and used the Dynomax Welded Ultra Flow race mufflers. And at the same boost setting on the BstC, which was 19psi using the Flowmaster's, jumped to 24 psi with the new exhaust set up! That's a solid 5 psi!! And it isn't loud either. Has a nice low rumble to it.

BTW, I could only run 19 psi on the flowmaster's. Anything more and the car would get backpressure surge ( it couldn't get the exhaust out quick enough and you could feel the power drop off ). Now it feels like I'm running open exhaust without the noise.

Hmmm.... I don't think the exhaust is holding it back.
Did your car run better at the same amount of boost?
You're not the first person I'v heard thas says flowmaster is BLOWmaster on TR's.:(

My times in my sig. are with open exhaust in case there was confusion.

The exhaust was holding it back. You could feel it. With the new exhaust it doesn't do that anymore. Like I said it now flows like I'm running the dump open sans the noise. And does feel stronger at the same boost level. Flowmasters are very restrictive. I wish I had made the change sooner. I wanted the ATR 3" duals, but $$$ wasn't there.

FWIW, this system says it's 2¾", but I measured the openings at the tail pipes and it measured 2 7/8" id! Nothing like a bonus:D

Hum

Well everyone keeps naming all these exhaust systems!! Why do I not see more people running straight pipes!! On my last GN I had 2 1/2 flowbastards an I had the same discovery as the guuy above except I could only boost up to 17 pounds no matter how many times i turn the rod. Went to straights an man that car came alive.. So in my opinion unless you do not do a lot of highway driving or do not like a nice rumble "loud".. Like a SBC. with a cam to me" Plus if ya want to save money go straight pipes. Oh yea with straight @ idle it was quiter an yes I had a TH Jersey Pipe. Everyone says forced induction cars do not need back pressure, then there are some that say they need a little so not to fall off on top end. Never here a discussion on this. May start a new topic!

???

Thats how you learn!! Everyone may not be as smart as you. Come to think of it there was a movie that came out about 3 months ago called "Wrong Turn." It was about theses caniballistic inbreed hillbillys up in the Vurginia Mountains that would hunt people an eat them, when they were lost on their mountain. Well I guess i'll take that back.......!!!!!!

I've been thinking exhaust for a while now.Going with the ATR 2 1/2 for the stainless.I plan on keeping the car for awhile and everything rusts up fast up here.

I have had the Hooker system for 2 1/2 years and theres not a spot of rust on it anywhere. Of course if you use your car as a daily driver/winter beater your milage may vary.

If your interested give me a call and I will do the sale price for you on either system

Wow I'VE got more ???? and suddenly I'am eating peope:confused: OHHH I live in VA so I'm a bumpkin ;) I beundrestandn now.

i have 2.5 ATR stainless
its loud inside the car and has a nice rumble idle:D

I have the 2.5 ATR Stainless with pitbulls a 3" THDP with electric cutout and I like my system. It looks very sharp too.... If I had to do it over, I'd get quietier mufflers because I drive my car everyday and I'd like nice and quite sometimes. When I want loud I just hit a button inside the car :p

Though with the 4 bolt flange on the ATR type exhaust the testpipe can really only bolt on one way. That means you'll have a low hanging dump if you decide to go that route. Mine hangs even lower since it has an additional electric exhaust cutout on the end of it. I have to be very very careful over speedbumps.

I put the ATR 2.5 SS under my T. I kinda hated to do it though. It was soo pretty!:p
Fits like a glove. And still looks pretty. That was 10 years ago. The Hooker system gonna be around that long? Since I'm gonna keep my T forever I figure it was a good investment!

I'm never gonna finish this car!:(

Message to Slowhawk and wife, get the 3" ATR stainless dual or crossflow system.

Deeper tone and less drone.

Just my .02.

well, my Hooker system is 4-5 years old and IN PERFECT shape so I don't see why not..
