Help with Tranny please!!!

I posted in the tranny section, but I need help tonight and wanted to see if I could bring more attention to it.


After my fiasco with my torque convertor and front pump getting messed up, my buddy wanted to check his to see if there was too much clearance. Well, we unbolted the torque convertor and it went back towards the trans about 1/4" so we shimmed between the convertor and flywheel and now it will not shift out of first. So we went back to the way it was and it still will not shift out of first. He would like to go home and I want him outta here...

Fluid?

Recheck your fluid level? I have had this happen once on a fwd trans. Just a thought.

im new to the whole trans thing but if it went back toward the trans 1/4 of an inch than that tells me it wasnt seated properly to begin with and you burned up (whatever part), a clutch if im not mistaken....

I have seen a few 350 turbos break the pumps teeth off because they torque convertor wasn't back enough.

If you pulled the front pump, maybe your TV linkage isnt in right. I dont remember having to pull those bolts for any reason other than removing the VB, but ya never know
