help!!!!!

my tranny won`t go into overdrive.also when it is in third gear and i slow down it slams into second gear. and some times it will start out in second gear.when the car does shift it does not slip at all..can anybody help ty in advance

Sounds like you may have a sticking TV valve in the valve body or something causing excessive pressure. A simple pressure check can confirm this.

how would i do a pressure check and if the valve is stuck how would i free it up?????????

A pressure check is performed by putting a 0-300 psi pressure gauge in the 1/8-pipe port above the shift arm on the driver side of the transmission case. Make note of the min. TV pressures and the maximum TV pressures as well, in each shifter range.

Unsticking a valve involves removing the valve body and disassembling any errant valve assemblies for cleaning.
