Hey Bruce, it's Mark .. I brought my 904 Tranny to you a couple months ago to have you install new bands, clutches, valvebody, gearset, and seals and stuff..

I'm finally getting to the point where I'll be firing it up soon, and I'm using a B&M Quicksilver shifter. In the instructions for the shifter, it states that the transmission is in 1st gear when the lever on the trans is all the way towards the back of the car. This almost seems backwards from the way the shifter works, because when I ratchet the shifter from P-R-N-1-2-3 (Griner Reverse Manual VB), it moves the lever from the back towards the front.

Thanks!

Get rid of the shifter

It is a ratchet shifter. not the best idea. More for cosmetics than anything else. You WANT a GATE shifter. (ie, Prostick, quarter stick, something that the whole shifter moves not a ratchet cable setup. Yes these shifters are cable , but done differently.)

As far as the way to install, that is correct. but you would be using third to set, not low. no big deal. ;)

cool. thanks! btw, I referred a buddy of mine to you, he's got an old 55 Buick that he's fixing up and needs the trans gone through.... he's a Mopar buddy of mine, so when he mentioned he needed his Buick trans rebuilt, I immediately recommended your shop to him.

Thanks again!

Is PTSExtreme still in business? I had Bruce rebuild my 904 back in '05, and finally got the car on the road this month.. yeah.. I know.. almost 10 years.. it's been a long project.. it shifts hard as hell, which is great.. but it feels like it may be slipping a little bit at times.. want to know if I should have it checked out.. and if PTS is still around, I'd like to take it there .. thanks!
