On a GN with factory A/C, a 3-1/2" THDP can easily be used with no modifications required to car or pipe.

If these really are like the TA headers the rule should also apply to them. I would imagine the 3" pipe would also clear.

Here are some more pictures of the Headers:D:)

SPX-7

Those look really nice. I am half tempted to order a set. The only thing is the clamps. They are cheesy but besides that the flanges look better than anything I 've seen latley.

Are the flanges stainless? You can check with a magnet.

No modding done to get the things to bolt up, just some minor port match and a little clearance for the head studs as with any header I have used.

We will be modding the V-bands for better reliability and adding the EGT bungs and Tial gate soon. Hoping to do some back to back tests vs. the ATR style headers after Norwalk if time allows.

Crumby pictures, sorry.

Howdy Ted.

I'm wondering... In looking at this picture:

How did you get the bolt heads to clear the welds???? (top holes).

To me it looks like either studs with 12pt nuts or just 12pt ARP bolts.
Do tell Ted.
Nice looking setup btw.

Those look very nice Ted, especially at that price... Never thought I'd say this but a poor Buick boy like me might actually be able to afford a set of stainless headers:eek: :)

at that price.. im gonna order another set.. just to hang on the walls of the shop. LOL

I guess what worries me the most about these cheap knock off's is that the turbo mounting flange's angle has to be virtually perfect or the downpipe's angle will be off, and likely wont fit down through an already tight squeeze down through the chassis, and then be at a good enough angle to mate up with the rest of the exhaust system..... It's nice that they fit the engine and all (despite the fact they have cheezy clamps), but what happens when the engine is in the bay and has a THDP style pipe bolted up??

GAHHHH those headers look great and would have solved my issues if only I would have noticed them sooner.

I just repaired my stock, warped header instead which saved me more money to spend at BG. So I guess its bittersweet.

Those cheap China headers look exactly like the TA Performance sells. I should post the TA Headers I have and we'll see if there are similarities:confused: Bet you if get the V-band clamps from the TAs, they would fit

Ted, did Mike Licht get a set of TA headers and send them off to China????

Dave,

I use header studs and nuts on mine. There was no welds even close to the bolt heads, but the head studs did come close to the flanges as they do with the ATR headers. If my studs would have stuck out any more then I would have had to clearance the flange a little to get them to sit flat.

I agree on the DP question you have, but I made my 3.5" work with plenty of wiggle room, so I don't expect a problem in that area but the cars with AC could have a issue if it is off like you say it may. I would hope not, but for how cheap these headers are I am not complaining.

Billy,
I seriously doubt Mike Licht copied TA's headers. Did you hear otherwise?

Why did Mike's name come into play here? He isn't the one selling these knock off's.

First off, I have to make public apology to Mike Licht for accusing him of making these knock off headers.

I hope BA didn't make these headers. How would BA like it if someone made a knock off of their awesome ICs???

This knock off stuff gotta stop. It will only hurt the vendors.

Hey Phil, before you put them on, take some pics of the flanges where they mate to the head. I want to see how consistant they are. I think Im going to get a set. Right now they are waiting for more.
Good luck with the motor install.
