hey turbo 6x2 i went to that gntype and i couldnt find hot airs rule anywhere? i seen some posts askin about ur recipe to but u were syain u wanted to get ur facts and verify everythin before posting but i couldnt find anything but if aint to much trouble for u maybe u can email me ur formula if it aint to much trouble or lead me to where its at exactly thanks alot
 
Thanks Wfo I know if you do a google search under hot airs rule it goes right to it too. Kinda cool seeing my article come up like that. There were three additions we upgraded the cam (I will have to look up the new numbers) and went with the Lee Thompson 3 inch down pipe moving the waste gate to the cross over, using a delta like recommended. The only other thing is we are now tuning to the EGT reading, using the set up for SMC. This seems to be the key for getting the car to go. The closer you are to the perfect 1600 reading the better the car runs. That takes a lot of time learing the set up seeing what it does or doesn't like and then keeping track of your combo and what the egt is at the end of the run. :D
 
Hey Jamie, I am very proud to see that the non-intercooled people are still fighting for those bragging rights! My question to you is, do you have any pics or your car and the motor, and do You have a detailed, updated, tech sheet for your car? I recently inherited Herb's motor, and I am having some work done to my intake and heads. I am thinking about leaping into the exhaust portion and getting the LT 3 inch DP and delta gate, but I want to get the 3 inch tubes all the way to the rear, and that costs a little bit....lol, so in the mean time, what do I need in this block to get a 11.6-11.3?

Actually my build is just like above, not changed that at all other then going with a larger cam which I will get the exact numbers here shortly and Lee Thompson down pipe. I believe the article lists all the motor work we had. You shouldn't have a lot to do on Heb's he ran 12's on it if memory serves with little mods. I will try to email you the motor photos direct since I don't have a web site to post them on. and email you outside photos.
 
hey turbo6x2 i have a question about ur heads did u go all out on the 87 gn heads but that i mean a whole complete stage 3 port and polish ? did u do 3 or 5 angle valve job?
 
oh one more thing where is this limited engineering guy or shop located at ? im from so cali do they have one here that they can do that same thing to my stock turbo?

Basically my 87 heads were just modified to fit my block. I believe a 3 angle was done. Seems some dude had dropped them off a couple years before my motor was to have been done and never returned for them. My stockers were junk so Weber modified these to fit my block. And they seem to work great. Thanks for grabbing the info for Limited engineering, John Craig will know exactly what you're looking for if you mention Lee Thompson. :cool:

What kind of heads/block/headgasket are you running? Since the heads are all the same casting, are they o-ringed? Just wondering what kind of mods you're talking about when you say they're modified to fit your block.

Congrats on the run. It's nice to have another 11 second hotair on the board.
 
I know they are o ringed and as far as the rest it was 3 years ago, so I will look at my paperwork. I think he had to modify them slightly to fit my block but to tell you the truth I don't remember a 100%. Karl most likely will remember most of it and let you know. I know that I was just charged for the work, since the dude never bothered to pick them up after 3 or 4 years that they sat there. ;)
