Dont feel bad, i lost 250
From what I can tell the posts in question were all deleted from the For Sale area from the last 365 days of inactivity. So if you posted or replied in those areas your posts are gone. Scotty Eugene your posts are gone because...... you have so much to add............ j/k

Guys, be patient. Your avatars are available, just let Bruce know and he will get it handled for you. As far as it being BS, well, its a matter of cleaning out dead "for sale" things which were taking up way too much space. If you have a question about your counts, NICELY advise Bruce of the matter and he will get it resolved. "you always catch more flys with sugar than vinegar" My mom was so right with that one. This was not an action of trying to "punish" anyone, so please, lets give it some time and resolve it thru dialogue, and not rhetoric.. thanks, mark

These deleted posts were NOT all for sale!!!! Many were technical responses. Many people lost 1-2k. Lot of cars/for sale wouldn't you think?

Why does anything matter?
Why do you come here? Info, correct? If 1000 tech responses are gone and the answer to your question was in that 1000 then guess what.... if nobody posts a new answer to address your ? then you are SOL
Many of the guys with knowledge have left and may never come back so that info is gone!!! Not to mention now when you do a search in the archives you find nothing. Other than that you are correct, what does it matter

I see Zam. It matters to the guys that need the posts to get the Avatar. Only other reason I see. Kind of gay to need a certain number to get one
Umm...I thought I stated why it matters in my original post.
If they are going to delete posts like that then they ought to throw out the idea of needing a certain number of posts in order to have an avatar or use a different requirement. That's all I'm going to say about the subject because it's really not a big deal, just a curiosity.

The avatar question has been answered. As far as anyone deleting tech answers, that is not something that has been done intentionally if at all. If anyone has lost a 1,000 post, it would be hard to verify. Some people have lost some post, a very few have claimed to have lost several hundred. As far as many losing over 1,000, that is pure hysteria. As far as many good people leaving, this is totally untrue at best. This board has most all the former techs and has added so many more. The shear number of new techs and members proves that statement to be totally spilt milk. All that is being asked is that every one be patient, things are being resolved to accommodate the major increase of new techs, vendors and members. Any unfounded complaints about lose of the quality of the technical staff available to everyone here is just someone with a bad taste in their mouth and can't get past it. I am sorry about that, but things progress much better when we have a spirit of cooperation, rather than complaining about everything you don't like with out giving Bruce the time to get things corrected. Maybe they should take it away altogether if it causes so much distress in this world...
You know - I am trying to figure out this post. It troubles me from so many points.
1) - Typing in CAPS equals YELLING. Are you really yelling over a post count?
I have been a member of this site since November of 1998. I have seen people come and go, owners come and go, etc. I take it for what its worth - its a website where I have friends, can get info if I need it, etc. But its just a website. You seem to feel that because you have owned 8 t-types and GNs over the years that you are somehow entitled to some preferential treatment? You didn't buy those cars from the owners of TurboBuick.com did you? They owe you nothing.
As far as your partiSipation goes, I am sure Bruce welcomes all participation by the members of this little community, and would be sorry to see someone leave, but sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease.... and sometimes it gets replaced.
The minute something like a post count becomes a main focus in my life is when I really think I should check and reorganize my priorities.
Just my opinion, but if you guys want to keep on whining about post counts and avatars and taking it SO personally, you may not have a site to worry about anymore.
Just my little 5 year member opinion....

Here's a question. Do you guys not enforce the 250 post count rule? I had 160 posts a few days ago and tried to add an avatar just for giggles and grins. But guess what, it worked. I know my actual post count is higher than 250, but I've lost a few here and there. No big deal. Anyways, why did it work for me?

1)When asking for tech. advice;do you believe that a person with a low post count knows what he's talking about? or a person with a higher count may know a little more.
2)Whould you feel more at ease buying a used turbo(or any part) from someone with a count of 10 posts or 300?
All I'm saying is that in this day and age with internet dirtbags;wouldn't you feel better getting advice or parts from someone that's been around these cars for awhile and has a significant # of posts.I know I would be very hesitant in sending $$$ to someone across the country that I may never bump into;who has a low post count.This my opinion of this topic.

I lost over 350 posts. It's really interesting (and pathetic) to see that the guys saying "Why does it matter? Who cares?" each have 1,000+ or 2,000+ posts. That's as absurd as someone with a full head of hair telling a bald guy "Why do you care that you lost your hair? It doesn't matter." To hell with that. It DOES matter to many of us. I want to know exactly how many posts I have posted since day one, and now I never will.
