After almost 18 years since I had to sell my 1987 WE4, I finally bought another turbo Buick. A 1987 GN with 37000 original bone stock miles.A few friends tell me to leave stock but with all these fast stock cars coming out now a days.I can't take a chance to get humiliated.I'm going to tastefully do my car right.I'm glad I have this site so I can catch up on all the new info on having a proper fast street car.

Welcome back! I tried, like hell, to keeping mine all stock but eventually I succumbed to the mod bug. Every time I think I'm "done" adding mods, I find something else to add. It's truly an addiction but I suppose there are worse things I could be doing...lol.

Where in NY are you ??? I'm near Rochester. Nice looking GN . There are are a few things even a bone stock GN needs !!

Absolutely!
Like ported heads, steel crank, drag radials and a turbo big enough to implode the fenders and hood.:D

Welcome to the Family and nice looking car you got there. Congrats on the find, :D
Beefing up the transmission to take more abuse and live longer would be something to put towards the upper part of the list, doesn't take alot to make the turbo buick half dozen roar to life.
A scanmaster, 42lb or 50lb/hr injectors, getting the stock heads at least a nice bowl clean up job if not a full port job, upgrade fuel pressure regulator to an adjustable type, a higher flowing fuel pump with hotwire kit, a turbo tweak chip burned for the injectors & higher octane gas, getting the valve springs replaced with some stiffer new ones, with a beefed up transmission along with maybe a more efficient torque converter upgrade that would reduce some rotating weight off the engine, would do alot for making it quicker & more reliable over stock. All the usual preventive maintenance stuff that these cars should get and you should be good to run a long time.
You don't have to get crazy to wake these cars up to run good on the street.
