With my old TE62 I was hitting a max of 5800-5900 RPM's at WOT...put the 70 GTQ on and under WOT it would cut-out...didn't figure it out until I thought about the rev limit in the chip...set at 6000 RPM...and according to my tach I was hitting that...so I need to get the chip rev limit modified...but to what RPM?...I don't want to go too low and hit the limiter again...I could have it set up with no limit but isn't the limiter beneficial as a safety feature to keep from over-revving or does the limiter do more harm than good?..I'd like to hear from the guys with built 109 blocks how high you are spinning the motor...

Imo

You are hitting the rev limiter because the car is shifting @ a higher rpm. (more torque and HP) I would have the limiter raised to 62-6300. If it still shifts to high, remove the governor and add 1 gram of weight to the small weight. 1 gram added will drop shift point 200 rpm.

I shifted my motor with steel caps and girdle at 6800 a couple of times and 6500 everytime.

I agree you should spin the motor a little more.
6500 Plus all day with my 109 Motor.
I ran more cam than you but you still should see 6300-6500 if you want.
