Could someone fill me in on what year F body hollow front sway bars bolt up to TR's. Also what's up with the Jeep steering shafts do you gain header clearance or what?

I think the jeep shafts are suppose to take some of the slop away and are a direct bolt up

Late 80s fbody. Usually the GTA's and IROCs are what you want to look for. ALso easy to spot by the tiny hole at each end of the sway bar. Jeep shaft, yeah theres a bit more room but I wouldn't bother with it unless you are bored out of your mind. I did it and sometimes wish I didn't. Nothing wrong with the stock unless the rag joint is shot which I have yet to ever see

As said above, the Jeep shaft is great of your stock shaft is worn out. I replaced a good stock shaft with the Jeep and didnt feel any difference.

For the swaybar, it will have two holes on the outer ends and more importantly will be 36mm. I usually just have a caliper in my junk yard tool bag to take a quick measurement. This also doesnt really make much of a difference (mainly saves some weight), You'll gain much more by replacing the rear bar.

I got the fbody springs in my car and i don't even have a front bar on. Seems to drive pretty good even with it off. Can't really take full advantage of anything with 15 inch tires

the best f body sway bar is the hallow 34 mm bar. The 36 mm dips down in the center and can bee a issue with the stock stretch location I/C's . The jeep shaft is a great upgrade if the stock staft is wore out.(rag joint)

Or you could just put some of the moog drop springs in and ditch the bar all together

I'm with you, I wished I didn't but I pulled the jeep shaft back out... Had to fight like hell to get it in because it was so stiff and I did not think to lube it to free it up first. (I bought it from a member on here) Damaged the spool valve in my box smacking on the shaft.. Had a difference of steering effort left to right. Now a "simple mod" cost me a steering box and I put the stock shaft back in.. DOH!

THe shaft I put in ended up having a slight bit of slop after being installed. Not to mention I had to lightly grind down the steering collum shaft just so I could put it on. I'm just gonna leave it in there since it's too much work to pull it back out with the hydrboost lines and all that shit in the way.
