Was trying to pull the hood on my 1987 Turbo T and missed getting them small bolts at the very back of the hood out. Anybody know what size they are. My 1/4" was too small & 5/16" was to large. It appears they're either 5/32" or 7 mm which of course I don't have. Are these necessary when I reinstall the hood if I ever get it off.

7mm. Sometimes they help alignment towards the windshield. Easy enough to re-install.........if you have a 7mm. :p

Hey I appreciate the information, I'll pick up one. I'm sure there will be alot more questions as I get into this project, I blew a head gasket. Thanks again!

If you're trying to pull your hood for better access to remove your heads, it's not necessary. The hood will stand on it's own straight up once you unfasten the hood struts. Be careful not to contact windshield when putting it up.

Thanks Again, I appreciate the information, I'm still on the learning curve with this one

Standing the hood straight up works. For a little added insurance against damage to my hood molding and windshield I tuck a folded up sweatshirt up behind the hood to act as a cushion. I have found you need those two screws in the hinges to keep the edge of the hood from scraping against the fender.
