I just bought a set of used HOOKER super competion headers. And now after talking on phone to turbo buick guy. He said they will actually make my car slower.

I need opinions resell them or put them on?

for a street car, they will most likely make it less responsive. The headers are too long, with too much internal volume.

The stock manifolds seem to be the best choice for most modest build-ups. Once the stockers are outgrown there are better choices than the hooker style.

There are lots of guys going very very fast on the stock ones.

That's what the guy said almost exactly ....when I talked to him last night

Every once in a while someone will post up they picked up a set and wonder what to do with them. Some of the old timers will say they should go right to the junk pile to recycle... :)

Def stay with the stockers.

And lesson learned, search the board before making purchases. ;)

I saw the For Sale thread. Did a search, and decided they weren't for me. Stockers are good to the 10's.

I ran 10 teens with the stockers and a 3 in down pipe. The old Hooker headers work well in heavily modified racing apps, but not in basic bolt on cars.
