First time at the track ever and man I suck. I was getting 2.7x 60fts 10.xx 1/8 mile 75.xx mph 15.4x 1/4 and 95 mph. The car had many issues wheels out of alignment (lowered it a lot)no traction of course and a bad driver behind the wheel. I was wondering if a got the car to hook will I lose mph (slicks) it dies a little bit on the top end. stock boost moved it up a little, minor upgrades set tps, iac, and spring cleaning. help me I am weapon.

few things

First things first, make sure you have enough fuel delivery. If you havent changed the pump do it, and if you dont have a new fuel regulator I would suggest that too.

Slicks will help your mph but dont go under 26 tall, thats where I was making a mistake, and too tall is no good either. A decent 60' foot is under 2.0, you should try launching at 5psi boost to start and then try more as you get better. A little bit of practice and you'll be doing fine.

If your car has high milage Id also suggest replacing the valve springs. Not a huge job, and not too expensive. Bad springs hurt the mph fo so

Good luck....

well the engine has been rebuilt I found is out by the studed ARP mains new pistons and rods, the top end has been freshened with new valve springs these are the only parts that I Know have been done by my visual inspection maybe more. I know this because I removed the oil pan and rocker covers because of oil leaks. Fuel pressure is 43 with the line off, increases 1lb per psi I have the hot wire kit and boost is 15 psi (can be adjusted). I have blue tops 36 lbs injectors K & N cone filter , MAF pipe.

At the track I could not launch with boost, wheels would just spin. To leave the line I couldnt leave with any more than a 1/4 throttle than I would just tip in and the wheels would start spinning I was spinning at the 330 mark. I get great traction on the street but at the track it is bad how do you guys hook at the track, what tires do you use and suspension do you have.

I will probably go the the track in a week or so again and hope to do a lot better.

Any one else run this bad there first time? At 95 mph what et should someone get?

Better times to come...

Hey man my car hooks pretty good with some drag radials, if you want a tire you can drive on the street as well. air those puppys down to around 15-16 psi and luanch like that . 5-8 psi works for me,but all these cars are different so you have to find out what works for your car:D
