I have a forged, balanced rotating assembly I just pulled from my Hot air motor...(don't ask) I am wondering if the hot air rotating assembly is the same as the intercooled ones and if they can be used in either block?? (109, or the hot air blocks) anybody have some insight on this?? I know the cranks are the same, the rods are the same, but I am unsure on the piston height, etc... Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance!! ---Keith

yes, they are the same.. the only differences between the 84-85 long block and the 86-87 long block is the deck height on the block and the head gaskets that make up the difference.

Hi Keith!
You could send that forged, balanced rotating assembly to me and I'll take care of it for you!! ;)

84-85 blocks DO NOT have a provision for the oil like the 86-87 blocks. On the 84-84, the turbo puts oil back into the intake, while the 86-87 feed back into the block.
