Hot oil

After I went on about a twenty minute drive today in my 87 Grand National I checked the oil and when I took the dipstick out smoke was coming from the dipstick tube and the dipstick was really hot. The engine temp was fine and I just changed my oil the other day with Royal Purple 5w30. I'm wondering if an oil cooler came factory and if this is a sign of anything?

Yes an oil cooler came on these cars from the factory. Many people dont use one, I dont. Are you sure there was enough oil in the car?

Yeah it's full.

its fine. if you are worried get a oil temp gauge my im sure its fine.
