Is there some way I can use a volt/amp meter to check for a slow battery drain or short?
My battery seems to go completely dead, will not even turn on a hood light after setting for 3 or 4 weeks. 1 or 2 weeks its ok.
Thanks

I have the same problem, but there is a way to fix it....I just don't care since I only drive the thing over summer and use it often enough to have a healthy charge.

You'll need a voltmeter to check current across battery terminals:

If your ambitious, just disconnect one accessory at a time until you find the culprit......if you have stereo equipment added on (amps), make sure you double check that!

Otherwise, it isn't a fun job :(

Charge the battery back then disconnect the ground cable and the underhood light.

Place the multimeter inline between the ground cable and the negative battery terminal & measure the current draw. There should be very little as the only thing running should be your clock memory in your radio.

Thanks Greg, exactly the info I was needing, an electrican I am not :)
