I was wondering, for someone that wanted to either buy a factory stock TR, or wanted to return their car to factory stock, why there isnt a sticky on 'what should be where, and what color, etc etc' in this section. Like a total rundown on what to look for, and how to spot it, in the 1. engine bay,
2. suspension, 3. brake system etc. etc. ya know?
Something thats already approved, and posted, so that noone has to come in here and 'post and hope'. But rather open up the list, and just check to see what theyre missing, or how their car differs. Would this be a good idea?

The reason being I assume is that nobody really knows or that not a lot of us really care. I'm into correctness only because I do think it is important from a historical point of view. I've been accumulating data at a very slow pace for at least the last 10 years if not 20 years and I don't even know where to start if I had to do a list. Our cars aren't exactly Corvettes or LS6 Chevelles so it takes a talented individual to even find one thing out of place on one of them. I'm not into that "it needs to have the correct paint markings" or "date codes" and soforth like the N.C.R.S or even the Buick GS guys. If such a guideline or rulebooh exists for the TR I'd like to see it.

yea, our cars arent the ls6 chevelle NOW, but give it some time. so youre going to wait TILL they gain that status, before you start scrambling to collect your parts to return it to stock? I already learned my lesson while walking thru the millions of car shows i go to. Im starting mine now. So when they do reach some sort of 'official' status, I can bolt em on whenever I feel like.
I dont have a long way to go but, still, I'm going to be prepared BEFORE the time comes. Not after. When the parts QUADRUPLE in price. If the list isnt totally comprehensive, maybe it could start out vague at first, then grow as time goes. Like, 'things to watch out for' when buying a potential restorator vehicle... like, "look at the lower control arms for boxing" type of stuff.

Theres a lot of experts on this place that im sure, could help write it very easily. I for one would like to know besides my few mods, how original my car is.

If you want examples to what is right and what is not correct on a turbo buick. Go watch Kirbans Guide to Buick Turbo Regals.

Long video, but very interesting. Long because well...Kirban isnt very interesting to talk to, and there arent chapters on the video so that blows.

Either way, its a very good video to watch.

I've never seen the videos but if they are like his books than there probally is a lot of incorrect information along with biased opinions not to mention missing information. Not knocking Dennis but his agenda is to sell parts and cars. I've been into the SFI TR's since day one and even further if you want to include all the G-bodies and I'll even go as far to say that I know more about the TR than Dennis ever thought of.I would think anybody purusing through the TR forums would figure that out. Of course if Dennis would like to contest my claims I'm always available as I do think this certainly isn't the forum or place for me to be making such claims. I do admire DK only because he did actually put a pretty good effort into the media he has written. It just needs to be more thourgh(sp). How many times have you heard us TR guys are perfectionists?

Every day. So much in fact, that some places dont even like to handle our parts anymore, cuz buick owners are 'too picky' they say. Ahh well. Whaddya want eh?
Id like to see those videos now. Makes me wonder.

Its an interesting video, but it is kinda boring. Its just because its the same stuff over and over with him talking and pointing things out.

I have his video from the 25th Anvierssary from the GS Nats. It's alright, but i havent seen the whole thing yet. Only way im seeing these is because a friend of mine has got em and many of his books from the Nats since Dennis gave them to him.

Anyways, i still see Dennis Kirban has a very knowledgeable guy, and i dont think anyone else has bought and sold as many TR's as he has.

Take a look at a little bit of everything. Look at other peoples cars and do a few searches. Maybe the guys at the gnregistry.com might have some insight. Also, you can get all of the info for your car from GM in Canada and have a better understanding of your options. Finally, I suppose you can ask pther boad members like turbofish38 as he is very knowledgable and has been very helpful in the past.
