Figured I'd post what I found tonight messing with my car....
Put a new EGR valve and gasket on my car and reset the computer. Fired the car up and started checking for vacuum leaks with some soapy water. Nothing. Car trips code 44 and the O2 isn't moving. So I shut it off and reset the computer again and refired it. BLM jumps up to 150ish and no code. So I just let it idle for a little while and the blm starts to drop. It finally quit at about 138-140 and stayed there. The old EGR gasket looked OK and the valve itself seemed OK too. Who knows.
Vacuum at the fuel pressure line was 17-18 at an 850rpm idle and idle maf #'s were 5. Vacuum is the same as before, but maf #'s were always 4. Does that mean that there was some sort of leak at the EGR since the blm went down and maf # went up?
Hopefully when I go out and play with the car again tomorrow it will do the same thing.
I think I still might do the pressure test John mentioned to see if I can find some more leaks anyways.
Also, the crack I found in the driver side header between 3 and 5 doesn't appear to be cracked all through. No black soot and no air pushing out or sucking in. Hopefully it will live for a little while longer.
