Hey guys, there is a black heat sheild on the engine side of the ac box that goes under and up the side that is causing some false knock due to downpipe contact, my question is, is it safe to remove this sheild or do I just trim it to fix the problem? With the downpipe in this thing proved to be a handfull to remove, car runs great without it, no knock whatsoever, so at this point, Trim it and put it back or leave it out...........Thanks, Ryan

mine has been off for years and never had an issue. AC is still ice cold in the summer too.. no melting issue with the dp either.. + the plugs are way easier to get out back there

Well its 50/50, so seeing as how its kinda a b!@%& to sneak outta there im thinkin im gooon leave it out, this winter when I build a new bottom end ill trim it and put it back in when everything is out.....None the less im happy that fixed the knock problem! Mixed in some race fuel and running 20 rock solid Psi and she rips!!

Mine is on the shelf. I run a 4 bolt with atr headers. No issues here. And the ac still keeps the ice from melting in my drink.;)
