Here in Ohio it is 21 degrees today and that is 14 degrees below normal for this time of year.

I haven't been paying that much attention to the global warming reports/threats but it seems if that was true the temps should be a bit higher than what we have now.

Maybe here in Ohio we are having global cooling instead. ;)

They closed the San Antonio track one night a couple of weeks ago due to too much Global Warming.

Pretty dam cold here. Then again, it's always cold here. It does get warmer in the spring tho. Does that count as Global warming?

It's going to global warm itself up to -2°F tonight here in IA. The whole thing is a way to tax the snot out of us.

Been kind of a warm winter here, but they come and go. Sometimes warm, sometimes cold.

Awesome for me in Chicago... been doing a ton of ice drinking, err fishing... This is the first time I can remember solid ice on most lakes by early december... Already caught some huge pike, and I'm heading out tomorrow to get some gills/crappies/walleye

I remember some winters in the late 90's early 2000's when many of the deeper lakes didn't freeze at all during the winter

It was said that we were on the back side of an El Nino which meant a milder and drier winter here in Minnesota.

Since that report was published we had the 2nd warmest November on record. Then normal Minnesota kicked in and global warning went out the window. We had one day above 32 degrees in the entire month of December and that one day was perfect. It was perfect because it warmed up during a giant snow storm so it all started melting. The next day it was back in the low teens and everything turned to solid ice.

Here it is January 1st and the temp right now is 1 degree above zero. The wind chill last night was -20. There is no high forcast for Minneapolis above 11 in the next 10 days.

So I am left wondering, are we just warmer than the antarctic? Possibly drier than Oregon?

It is pretty cold here tonight. Was out in the garage putting a 4T60E together for a V8 Fiero customer and it started getting cold out there. Usually garage stays around 68 degrees all year round without a heater. brrrrrrrrrrrrrr I was all decked out with my work pants, t-shirt, sweatshirt and work shirt and needing a jacket.

as faulty as the "science" behind global warmiong may be, i still won't mix up local weather with global- or even regional- climate.
sometimes it's colder than normal, sometimes is warmer, sometimes it's normal. it varies from day to day and year to year and decade to decade and century to century. here in MN, i've seen record lows on one day, then record highs a couple of days later.

Fargo is an 80 mile drive from me. i wonder how cold it is right here..

weather.com says it's -24 here. that's getting down into the nippy range.

Single digits here today. Certainly makes you wonder about global warming. But it also makes you wonder what's going to happen when all of that methane that is stored in the artic tundra starts being released in even greater amounts. I don't know what's causing the tundra to melt. It likely won't do anything to me in my lifetime, but future generations are going to be dealing with some scary stuff.
