Just wondering since im coming over(hopefully I can get a car) from the Mopar/old Muscle Car thing to newer cars. Reason I ask is I see some posts where guys act like there are "rare"/hard to find stuff for these cars. Whats Rare and hard to find. I mean I had a 69 Plymouth RoadRunner and that stuff is Rare and hard to find but I just could not imagine that TR stuff could be that rare or hard to find being relatively "new" compared to the 60's muscle cars. If im wrong let me know. Also whats hard to find on these cars or "rare". How is the aftermarket for parts availability? Im trying to find this all out BEFORE I get into a TR and then have trouble getting stuff. Im used to looking around though.

If you are rich nothing is rare. :D

Cranks are hard to find.

Original body parts such as doorskins and wheelwell moldings are difficult.

If you are building an original show car it could get pricey otherwise there is plenty of aftermarket stuff to use in MHO.

Mine are drivers however. :)

Hardest thing to find is a good reliable engine builder. ;)

Wow that is strange about the doorskins and wheel mouldings. I would think they would be abundent especialy the doors since they are "newer". No just a nice weekend cruiser. Im not going to chrome the whole thing or build a 1billion HP engine or anything. I am pretty much going to leave the engine alone and just make it look nice. Mabey a new paint job and keep the rust away. I figure the less junk on the engine the easier to tune and more reliable it will be. Car im looking at needs a carpet and a drivers side head rest. guy says rust free but has some checking in paint looks nice from 5-10 feet but when right up on it you can see it needs paint. I figure I can't paint it anytime soon but I can keep it nice till I can. It won't see rain so thats a plus. I mean when I sold the RR it was developing rust in the door seams and it was going to cost me $850+ to get skins put on, heck I could get a whole door(if ya can find them) for less money :). Oh and im the opposite of rich thats why I sold the RR so I could pay some bills. I just figured a TR would be more "reliable" and easire to keep running than a older muscle car.

90% of everything crosses over from a regular regal or other G bodys (monte carlos, cutlass, grand prix, theres nore but i cant' think right now...), there is plenty of them in junk yards if parts are needed.

Most the stuff that sets us apart from them is in the drive line and all of that is easy enough to fine, maybe not factory replacements but there is plenty of aftermarket performance stuff that works.

its a lot easier to find parts for than any old mopar, only down side is there is never anything for them at swap meets:rolleyes:

I will just go the meets to help my father in law look for stuff for his 1970 Coronet R/T :). And good GN/TR events like the Chrysler show at Carlisle?
