I took my new 4.1 combo out last weekend and at 17# and 19* timing it did a best of 7.66 with a 1.66 60' and 89.7 mph in the 1/8.

The tune was real rich according to the wideband couldn't get A/F any higher than 10.9 : 1.

Drove it there after filling up with 93 gas and didn't even let air out of the tires. With some tuning and a better 60' I see 7.30's on 93 gas @17#.

The cam is different from my last combo and it spools real fast making the launch a little different. Here is the setup.

4.1 .030 w/ hypers
214/224 flat tappet
champion irons
6776 turbo
3200 stall
G body SLIC
RJC powerplate
4" mega maf
extender chip and 60# mototrons
stock doghouse and TB
stock headers
2.5 " exhaust
THDP
stock rocker arms

Pretty straight forward combo,no alky.

My old setup had a 218/218,ATR headers,70mm TB,83#ers as the only differences,oh and some old forged pistons I bought used.

Almost have mine back from the machine shop. So far my setup is 4.1 prod. block, BMS stroker crank, Carillo Rods, Ross Custom pistons, BHJ balancer, JW flexplate, RJC Girdle and scraper. Should have it back in the next 2 weeks.

Thats great!! I think i got mine to 126mph in the 1/4, i dont have a time slip yet. Plan to go to the track soon.

Just got mine on the street this week (only 10 miles on engine). My build includes:
- 109 block bored 20 thou,
- Forged Stroker Crank
- RJC Girdle
- Forged rods
- Ported GN1 alum heads

- Roller Rockers
- Ported Intake
- 72 mm TB
- PT-67 DBB Turbo
- 72# Injectors
- PTE FMIC
- Dual 2.5” ATR Exhaust
- Built Trans
- 3200 Stall TC
Hoping to get into the high 13’s. What do you time of my chances?

This is for 4.1 production blocks, but your combo should fly:eek:

is the 208/208 flat cam or the 204/214 flat tappet cam too small for the 4.1?
everywhere i read, people say the bigger the cam the better. but for a hot street/strip setup, what cam should one be looking for?

Got mine running a couple weeks ago and should be hitting the dyno on Saturday so Otto can do his magic.
Previously went 10.30@ 131
Old:
4.1 production block, stock crank and rods with custom pistons. Champion untouched aluminum heads and intake. T-72.
Now:
Same block, stroker crank and rods with custom pistons. Ported the heads and intake. T-76.

Shooting for 9's of course. :)

Breaking news!!! I just learned, if anyone dont know besides me, if you are swaping in a roller cam, be sure to get the right front cam bearing, my engine wasn't pumping oil to the lifters on the driver side, i was just told you have to get a bearing from TA per that has a grove in it to let oil come to the driver side lifters!!!

Installed Front Cam bearing, and oiling problem solved. This engine is a beast!! The cam, and turbo seems to be as a stock set up, engine spools instant! I see that the cam sensor makes a big difference to me!! Had to advance mine just a hair!
