How many #'s of boost with no alky ?

I am running a solid 19# on 91, not sure of the timing on the chip though but it is a TT.

not comparable to a stock i/c'd car

yeah seems like alot of boost on just 91

The reason I was asking is because ran out of alky so I turned my boost down to 12-14# & it was showing about 2.1 knock..

If you have the ability to monitor knock you KNOW how much boost you can run. It really is immaterial if half the people out there are running 20 pounds on pump if your car knocks at 14 then that's your limit. FWIW on the crappy 91 out here in so cal with a mostly stock car I could only run about 13 pounds before it started to knock. I had an old chip then and I didn't change the chip until I went alky. because your alky chip has less fuel in it because it is meant for injecting alky. add some fuel maybe 5% in all gears and go from there plus the timing is higher. with a alky chip in there with no adjustments your knock issue sounds about right

To run high boost on low octane you need to run very low timing.

Alky chips are high timing chips. So if you run 91 octane with an alky chip.. 12-14 PSI is normal. Bring the timing down, fatten up the mixture,.. you can get 18 PSI. Doesnt mean the car is going anywhere tho. As a richer mixture and lesser timing both rob power.
