how much air in 16in MT dragradials?

How much air are you folks running in 255/16 MT DR`s at the track?
I have a friend that will not go under 25, as he thinks with the 16in tire, you need more air.
Any truth to this. His best 60, at a kind of nasty track is 1.80 or close, which is not bad. But, I think we could see better.

I went 16 pounds

on the same size tire and was able to get a 1.72. I was having other issues at the time but the tire was working and I believe would go at least 1.60 with that tire pressure. Tell him to drop it to at least 20 and make a pass then go down from there.

i've went as low as 15 lbs. good 60 ft. but loose at the big end of the track....

17psi on my 16" MH drag radials. Worked good.

25psi on the street.

That would actually be Lapeer Dragway.

High 1.6's last weekend with 18psi in the tire. 16in MT street radial.

Lapeer is for Trucks. I mean what a bumpy track. And the return lane is something else. Man I miss Detriot dragway. At least it hooked.
