bison, the 71 supports 945 hp all out. You haven't even bothered to "educate" the other board members that the cam setup can be a very crucial ingredient with air flow. My buddies motor had a small flat tappet cam, not a roller. The car drives to the track and runs 6.2's all day at 112.5 pig rich and drives right back home and to the local hangouts. There's not much talk around here of other's going that fast so if you say its slow or must be on a dead cylinder, you may just be god's gift to e85 and turbo buicks.

There's something wrong with that car. 40+psi out of a 71mm turbo in a Buick v6 and that car should be going mid-120s to the 1/8th all day, even if the car weighs 3600lbs.

I'm no gift I can assure of that. Fwiw my passes were on 93/alky. If I had easy access to e85 the engine would have made even more power. Even at a 9.5:1 a/f you won't drop 10mph in the eighth. Roller cams don't make more power than flat cams either. They are a safer more reliable choice but don't hurt power vs a similar profile on a roller grind. I think that's great he drives it all over and it's making 650whp. Im sure he does well on the street with it too

Curious on what cam now, maybe it's an odd ball grind and the Dynamic Compression is compromised a bit allowing some head room at this boost level on E85.

Regardless, if he's running 40+ psi on those headgaskets and E85 than more power to him. ;)

Not likely with a hyd roller. Boost is just a number imo.

This thread started off as a question about a specific topic, and has drifted into something completely just like it always does. That's why I barely come on here much, it's really just not worth my time. At the end of the day, it's just words that are put out there without much effort.

And bison, if only we would meet one day at the track, I'd really like to see what your all about when it comes to these cars in person.
