How much for painting bumpers

My T has chrome bumpers and Im looking to get the car painted and have the bumpers blacked out.

Seeing as how kirbans sells black fiberglass bumpers for 185 could you justify painting a mint chrome bumper (which i could sell to someone who wants chrome) and that also needs the rubber impact strip...

rubber impact strip is 85 alone so we are talking about a 100 buck difference, what would a paint shop charge to paint a chrome bumper black?

I would think you may have to have the chrome stripped then preped for paint, It might just be cheeper to get the fiberglass ones? I had my spoiler painted last week at a buddys shop and the painter charged me $50 at a discount. I would check around and get some quotes.

I have been told by a very reputable painter, that painting over chrome rarely ever works no matter how well you try to strip the bumper. He said he seen people try to sand blast them and everything, and the paint just doesn't like to stick. Like you mentioned, you would probably be better off selling the chrome bumpers and either picking up some fiberglass ones or painted ones....Just some food for thought.
