I understand that the stall rating is what holds back the D5 from being used with larger turbos, but if it could be used how strong is it? If future turbos are bb/more efficient and don't need the high stall to spool, would the D5 be usable?

Stock D5 in the low 11s @ 122..hp ??? prob 250-300 anyway :p ... I am sure others have gone faster

So were running a stock D5 in Melissa's car? Stock stall with the 44 too?

Weight gets to be an issue.
I ran one for alot longer then most folks would consider prudent. But, my car is more of a top end car, then a 60'er. With the latest series of tweaks thou, I wanted a converter that would definetly hold..... So I went with a Yank Pro Stock converter. 2,800 RPM stall at 0 boost, 254mm diam. (10"). It truely woke the car up. While top end is the same, everything else is just alot more fun.

So yes, you might be able to get it to work, you won't have the grin factor.

yup I have stockers on all the cars ... she only 60's mainly 1.8s but it pulls at the top .. get a 66 or maybe a 70 dual BB and let me try it for ya :p

I was just wondering if they end up with mid sized bb turbos that didn't need the stall, if the D5 would last at say 450hp at the wheels. I understand the D5 is heavier than a smaller unit so that would be a factor on the 60'. What kind of slippage does D5 give going through the traps?
