I have the chance to purchase this for $4000. It has a 318 motor. The car has less than 70k on it how much is it worth?

I'd buy it, remove all the "General Lee" stuff, strip the paint and paint it in a tasteful color, add some "Magnum 500" wheels with a nice 440 engine it it to make a Charger R/T clone...

Claude ;)

Whats it worth? I HAVE NO IDEA, but for 4000.00 id jump on if the pictures represent what it actually looks like.

4K? Why havent you purchased it?

BW

I agree, appears to be worth 4k just to have some fun with it. Keep it until they make another crappy Duke movie and then you can sell it to the movie studio so they can wreck it.

Buy it. Spend another $25,000 making it a Hemi Clone. Sell it for $80,000 and pocket some change.

Buy it, and if the pictures actually represent it well, I'd take it off your hands for $5000. No joke.

If it's a solid car it's worth $4000 but for $4000 I'd check it out very hard....

I'm willing to bet there's bondo in the car, probably rusty floor pans replaced with stop signs or soda can sheet metal or some other shade tree back woods stuff going on. Maybe even a former flood car or a rebuilt wrecked car.

$4000 sounds too good to be true for an old Charger. And them Chargers are known for rust issues. Whatever you do, go over that car with a fine tooth comb, and bring 5 sharp eyed car guys and have them scour it over too.

That doesn't belong to (board member) WakkoSS does it?

The 318 (from what I have been told) is a pooch in a big car, but can be built up well. I don't see $4k worth of vehicle there, but I preferred the show's Jeep (and it's driver) more than that car. It's a Jeep thing. You may not understand.

The interior doesn't match what what in the original show vehicle (if memory serves).
Good luck with your purchase.

NO, it belongs to a woman who was in a car accident with her husband. He was killed by the crash. She was also injured and wants to sell the car because it brings unwanted memories of her husband.

If it is a solid car I would buy it for me and my son play with:biggrin:

The Dukes car did have a tan interior, with floor shifted console, only thing different I see is their doors (supposedly) didn't open...oh and their car (supposedly) had a 440.

As mentioned go over it with a fine tooth comb X 5 and if it checks good buy it. Then keep it for yourself.

if you don't buy it please let us know , i would definetly buy it, with rust problems or not, (if any)

I remember the 440, but I thought the interior was black.
I guess my memory is going.
:p

I understand what you are talking about. I think that was the show that started a life long infatuation with women driving Jeeps. Almost as good as Catholic School Girl uniforms.

I disagree, but only because of my experience in catholic schools.

Good looking women (even some that aren't very good looking) in Jeeps are much better looking than any women in catholic school uniforms. Half the time, the women in Jeeps don't have that much clothing on anyway!

We are digressing.......
I still don't see a $4k vehicle there, JMHO.
MAYBE in the paint.
