Got the car back together with its new ported iron head and 204-214 cam combo and I am trying to get this thing tuned. I guess I am a little concerned how much fuel it is calling for because I have the chip maxed out at 20% WOT and I have the fuel pressure set to 44psi vac off on the regulator. My PL said my O2s were in the 740 range, FP 62 psi, Boost 21psi, RPMs 4964, injector duty 58% at 97mph, timing added 1 degree, alky is set at 6 and zero knock. Should I just keep adding fuel via the regulator until I get it in the 780s? or am I missing something? BTW I don’t have a WB yet still having to use the O2s. Thanks for your input.

58% inj and thats with the 20% added

it sounds like you have a 93 chip burned for 60s and stock turbo at stock boost levels
but your combo in sig shows champ ported irons and a te60

on a stock motor with that cam , TA49 and alky ive maxed out a street chip burned for the 49 at 89% inj on 50s (44.5lbs per hr per injector)
you show 58% injector duty ..calculated thats only 37 lbhr per injector

you need a chip with more fuel

oh and the fuel should be rising one to one
44 base plus 21 boost you should have logged 65psi fuel pressure

Pacecarta is right. Chip was most likely made for a stock turbo/stock head setup. You will have to have it reprogrammed for your new setup.

My PL shows pressure variation from 62-68 psi but mostly in the mid 60s. You are right, champ ported heads and a Te-60 make up my combo. Is there anything wrong with just added fuel pressure? What the down side?

I guess that answer my question....Just pull the chip and send it to you Eric? Do ya need anything other than the chip?

more pressure = less volume at wot and youll run richer at idle cruise

Thanks again. I will get one orderd today. I was planning on going to the track tomorrow but better safe than sorry.

Good call.

IMHO, upping the fuel pressure is old school..... and moves the fuel MAP everywhere..... so if it was idling fine... and BLM's fine..... you up the FP.... and the BLMS will have to compensate for the overly rich condition created by the increased fuel pressure. It is always best to do it in the chip if the chip has adjustments for fueling.

I knew there had to be some strange things going on in there. I just replaced the head gaskets so I am not in a hurry to go through that again either.

With most old chips including stock that was true. But most newer chips including Erics, have a BLM lock when going into power enrichment. This means the inj PW is more or less "fixed" with regard to fp changes. So this means fp adjustments will have an affect on WOT fueling.

My point is/was that the FP changes will effect idle and part throttle aas well. Yes they will achieve the desired effect at WOT..... but they will probably negatively effect idle/part throttle fueling.
