How much play

I been having a problem with smoke from the tail pipes so pulled the air inlet side of the turbo to check for play it has up and down play just not sure if this is ok and side to side play also, so I know to much up and down is bad so does this mean ,I need to rebuild the turbo . Want to get some thing done so ,I can start driving it agin so any help would be great thanks.

In and out play is bad...side to side is okay, about .005-.010
Pull the downpipe and look for oil in the pipe and the exhaust housing

Contact Bison on here. He does great rebuild work on turbos.
He can rebuild your turbo or work out a trade I'm sure.
He has turbos ready to go.

Thanks for writing back , mine makes and metal to metal noise when you pull it toward the right then push it back toward the down pipe it makes the noise, will have to see if I can get a dial indicator and check it. I know now that it should have some sup and down play that the oil takes out when its running , but since having some oil smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe when,I slow down that it might be the oil seal it does not do it all the time only when letting of the gas and slowing down only sometime.
