ive always thought of building a N/A regal--

here is a list of what i thought would be cool to do-

4.1 with hypers, .030 overbore
ported iron heads
210/205 cam
hooker headers with duals ( just buy the turbo regal kit and keep the spare parts for later)
2004r trans with D5 convertor

BUT here is the kicker

use the turbo regal computer and harness along with the intake, throttle body and fuel injection system

this would work right???
i'd think it would work ok with a k&n air filter mounted right on the t-body, and using stock injectors--

anybody have any idea what a combo like this would run??

the only problem with that is the computer, injectors, and everything else in the intake stream is calibrated for a turbo......step on the gas and you'll drown everything out...

havent you ever had a MAF go out on you??

one day one broke and i had no choice but to pull the up-pipe off and drive the car home--
actually it wasnt too bad-
seemed to drive fine at the time

of course, it runs in "limp" mode.....wouldn't go real fast.......plus you still had the turbo! I have seen Stage motors built with carb that will run, (as in NASCAR) but I don't think you'll get much out of a n/a 4.1 (unless it has Stage heads and bottom end)

oh, I see you pulled the up pipe, so no turbo, but still no power also

BTW, there is a guy out of S Cal (Sheriff's Dept) that campaigns a n/a Stage Regal in SS and runs low 10's

OK, OK, so if the maf was mounted between the t-body and airfilter it would work ok?

heck, id only be looking for mid 13's off the bottle, and mid 12's on a good shot--

i dunno, just something to think about--

D you have anymore info on this car? Id like to learn as much as I could about it.

drop an e-mail to Nick Micale (arizonagn@earthlink.com) and ask him about the car.....think the fellow's name is Neil....he can give you more info

If u have a regal with turbo 3.8 just unhook the wastegate hose on it thats what a 4.1 will run like. It will run like a dog. And if u run bottle u better use forged pistons cause the Hypers won't last.

And what kind of compresion would u run?

It would run but not at what your looking at ;)

So far it sounds like u have a 200 horsepower motor without bottle. U would need a new chip your setup. It would cost some money but it could be done.:D

ive got a friend here in town with a chip burner-

im sure it would make more than 200 h.p.

anyone have any specs on a stock v6 from the factory- werent they around 135h.p.???

well, the Busch cars made 5-600 HP on a carb......Stage motor tho

You could always use the cal pack from an 86-87 Park Ave/Lesabre or Olds 88/98. But again, with out forced induction you would be giving up a ton of power since the 86-87 turbo intake is basically a single plane. It would actually hurt performance. Stick with a 4 barrel if you have any plans to make some power and remember, you WILL have to rev it to make any type of decent power.

I once had an 85 riviera with a 3.8. It was fuel injected with distributorless ignition. Couldn't you use it's intake and computer since it is already tuned for a n/a motor? Shouldn't it bolt up?

Or couldn't you use the edelbrock performer buick v6 intake, add true dual exhaust, some ported 8445 heads, 9:1 compression, msd ignition, electric fan, cowl hood, 212/212 cam, roller rockers, and a 650 carb. This would have to make well over 200 hp on a .30 over 4.1. Then on top of all that add a 150 hp shot of nos.
