How to test Caspers audible knock detector

I have a Caspers audible knock detector and a LED guage. The LED works but the audible does not. I checked power and ground, and the sensor wire connections are good (same wire). Unfortunately I don't think it has ever worked, but I didn't reallize it till I smoked the last motor Anyways I rap on the rear of the motor and the LED goes but no sound. What is the output/input that triggers the guage? I mean is it ground or +12vdc? I think it's futile but I thought I'd try to check it anyway.

Maybe e-mail John at Caspers with a link to this thread for the search feature in the future. I know this gets asked a lot. Curious about mine as well right now? Saw 12* knock on SM & PL but no beep? Worked last year?

Do not apply 12v to the audible. Call caspers and ask about a test proceedure.

Put in some old 87 Octane and set the boost to 35psi. You should be able to hear all kinds of audible sounds......
