How to view Quicken files. QIF and QFX files

My bank only has the option to download these files if I want to search my old transactions. Thought it would be a simple process but this is ridiculous. Searched online. Found a qif master and is garbage. One site says to open in a text editor and it is unreadable junk. I have a mac, is there an easy way to view these files without buying quicken?

I ended up just buying quicken. Its actually pretty nice because my bank transactions automatically get updated into it. At one point i was manually adding mine into Microsoft Money. But there is no more Microsoft Money.

Really don't want to buy quicken just to view my bank statement.

Look here, only thing I don't like is sending your "files" into the Google cloud...
