Ok, well a bunch of supra dorks are talking s##t, I am going to race a supra that is somewhat modded, exhaust, intake, and some other stuff, he says it is BPU or BPU+ i am not sure. I really want to beat him but I dont know whats going to happen, he will most likely run around 22PSI. I have a PT54, 3200 stall and a fully built trans and a PAC kit and all the other usual mods. I am going to wait to go with the trans pro till I race him, what do you guys think? anyone have experience with a TT supra, oh and why are the owners such a##holes?

How is your 60ft time?
Look into M/T 275/60 Street Drags if you do not have them already.

Most Supra's are not good 1/8th mile cars, they make madd power up top but suffer out of the hole etc.

So, your best bet is to get an 1/8th race and if your car runs mid to low 11's you most likely got him pretty easily.

And if he still has the sequential twin turbo set up ( stock ) than its in the bag for a mid 11 GN in the 1/8th.

So your telling me I am done from a roll then? I hope not, and yes its the stock turbo setup.

hard to tell without any track times as in my opinion you should pull him even from a roll with that combo, but as we all know just because it should run a certain number doesn't mean it will. (goes for the supra as well) turn the boost up as high as the alky will allow and if you want some added protection throw some xylene in the tank ;) They run very strong even on stock twins but i think a PT54 equipped car with the proper supporting mods should take most BPU supras

I hope because I want to shut their mouths, all they do is talk all day long about how fast their cars are.

O.K. I am assuming this is a mkiv supra 93-98? Well if you are even considering a run from a roll of 40+ with an even slightly modded supra... as much as it pains me to say I think you may be done for. I looked into getting one a while back. Let me just say that even BPU (basic performance upgrade) supras dont f around on runs from a roll. Do some research. No hatred for supras here.

But having said that, GOOD LUCK.

I believe its a 97 or 98, I know there fast from a roll, I will be happy if I beat him from a dig, I will be really happy if I do beat him from a roll.

They are holes because their BPU's probably cost as much as our cars. :D They are driving a close to 50 grand (new) car, you are driving grandma's Regal, and when is the last time you saw a GN in a movie that was supposed to be a 10 second street car with NAWS and a giant graphics paint job?

Be Careful- very careful. They could be hustlin you - i know of two modded supras that race here at gateway international and they are both very quick. LOW 11's 120+ ets. So i hope you're in good tune. JUST DONT BLOW UP YOUR CAR trying to impress some dorks.... there's always something faster out there.

Go from a dig. I can beat (e.t.) Supras that run 130 mph in the 1/4 because they can't get out of the hole. From a roll I would get stomped.

BPU Supra from a roll=ass whippin for most cars out there

You dont want to mess with a Supra from a roll when youre in a stock car. From a dig,id think youd kill em.

You should take him no problem from a dig. My buddy and I crashed a Supra dyno day once and there was a MKIV with stock Turbos and BPU running around 420 RWHP and the same torque. He had an auto car as was running 12.40's at 118.
That day was funny because when I put my GN onto the Dyno and popped the hood all the Supra guys (mostly 3rd gen folks) were snickering about how my turbo was mounted "sideways" and how my GN is not going to make any power because of poor engineering. Well, I pulled 384 RWHP and 504 LB/FT of Torque. the HP #'s were a little low because I was letting off at 5100 RPM's since I don't have a real tach. Several 3rd gen guys picked up and left after that before putting their cars on the dyno. :D

GNguy what does your car turn in the 1/4? If your in the mid to low 11 range i'd say you'd be aight from a roll. Dig you kill him, just try to make it as slow of a roll as you can. Brake boosting is your friend too. You can deff sting this dude. Good luck post videos when your done fryin.

A few years ago I raced a bpu supposed 11 sec 96 Supra from a 45 mph roll and pulled him easily. I was tuned for about 123-125 mph in the 1/4. Now, i know Supra's shouldn't be underestimated, so be careful....they can me monsters from a roll even when their ETs suck :)

The only real advantage you have from a roll is brake boosting. Even the quick spooling twin turbo supras (compared to a way too big single) will get stomped on the initial hit from what ive seen and then once they get some steam they start pulling. If your car is running as it should be i think you should pull down low even from a roll.... just let off around 120 haha

thanks guys, I guess I am just going to wait to get the MAFT pro so I can tune my car a little more, I know its really rich and I want to go MAFless. I am definitley gong to video tape it. last time I raced these gys they cheated me so I am going for my revenge now.

What does your car trap in the 1/4? People could give you some better advice if they knew. With your mods some go mid 11's at 120+, others run high 12's at 108.

If you don't trap in the 118 range you will probably get embarrassed from a roll with or without the MAFT pro.

I havent taken it to the track yet, I plan to. We are doing it there though I think, ill let you guys know when.

Well then, make sure you get the boost to at least 25# on a good tune with good gas or alcohol before you even try it.
