What do you guys think about the Howards Ultimite Duty Billet rods. My goal is a 1000 whp and I want to make sure I put the right parts in it. I was going to use Callies Compstar rods but I was told not to.

I was never able to find enough info from guys running them. I would say they are fine at your power level. They looked to be a nice piece.

They are very nice rods. The are comparable in weight and materials as the other high end rods. They will take more than 1 k , but only rate them that high. I have spoken to them at PRI and they really know what they are doing.

Hey Dusty have you ever heard of SMS Race Engines in Childersburg? Thats who I have been talking to about doing my engine. They are going to cnc my heads and intake and do the rest of the machine work.

I haven't heard of them. Just about everyone around here uses people around H'ville.

If you give me a few days i will talk to a friend of mine that still works for Callies. I did work thiere for a bit of time but no longer work for Callies. He can give me all the spesifications on the rods. Just to let every one know that Callies is moving from Jones rd. to South Union St. in fostoria Ohio. Feel free to pass the word around here and on other boards. I am not shure when the move will be final but i will ask my friend.
