Picked up a cast aluminum deep pan made by hughes at Summit racing for my 2004r. Awesome piece finned with drain plug came with allenhead bolts that were black anodized and a 700r4 style filter and cork gasket. Fits amazingly well. Possibly an issue on lowered cars, is that it hangs as low as exhaust pipe. At 180$ I give it my thumbs up. Also saw a pan in yr one catalog for f-bodys that will work on 2004r. Summit did not have one listed. I was at the counter in their Mcdonough store and guy acted like I was crazy when I said Grand National. Told him to look up trans am and he found it.

I used to work for Hughes for a year or so in sales when I lived in PHX, and I do have to say that their deep pans are the best pieces I have seen compared to some vendors. They hung a little low in some low slung cars (had a customer knock one off his lowered MOnte Carlo SS, but Phoenix is the speed bump capitol of the world).
They were designed to take the 700 filter, but the initial run used 200-4R filters!!!
Glad you like the pan!!

I noticed on the Hughes pans they have a very thick flange. Will that interfere with the shifter cable bracket being able to mate up? How did you make yours fit/work?

Not sure about the stock shifter cable bracket but it sure does require some grinding to get a Hurst shifter bracket to work. If you have a Hurst shifter and need some pics let me know as I did this yesterday.

I did the original proto-type with Jeff Hughes on one of my cars. The shock linkage bracket will fit, but like said, an after market shifter bracket will need to be modified.

The 700 filter will NOT fit w/o filing the 3 pads in the bottom of the pan. The pan is made for the stock 200 filter, and comes with a 700 filter as I requested years ago since it is a bottom feed instead of top feed.

A few pics of the install w/Hurst pistol grip shifter. Notice modified shift cable bracket and modified shift linkage bracket which works with the factory steering coluum lock rod. For quite a while I had given up on using first gear because the adjustments would not allow the use of park and 1st gear as the Hurst bracket is incorrectly designed. Someone on the board sent me a pic of how to modify and it finally worked. Hurst is no help, the part is not designed properly for the 2004R.

Wow Mike I have to wonder how you got your hex bolt on there, looks like ZERO room between the bolt and the pan...
