Welp, here we go again!

This time it looks like I'm in the path. I actually live a little East of Pensacola. I'm freaking out here... HELP!

bishir,
You goina have to have a might quick trap speed to beat that Ivan Guy. I hear he is running @ 165MPH right now..

Good Luck and don't wait to long to get out if it is heading for you.

I was supposed to go to a conference in St. Petersburg on the beach starting tomorrow...I said to heck with that.....I can see it now, we're all flying into to town while the residents are getting the heck out.....IBM as of Friday was wanting to go ahead with it and not cancel it...idiots.

The weather gurus show all these possibel paths the storm will take. All coming North up into the Gulf. I hope they end up with mud in their face and it makes a straight track into Yucatan. It didn't turn north yet. ;)

Its hitting the Cayman Islands right now.My girlfriend is still there:(Ive come to the conclusion that I am going to lose everything I own there:(I just hope and pray that my g/f is safe....

I hope your G/f is okay. Looks like it's forcasted straight at me now, but I think it's still heading west. I hate to wish the storm on anyone, but I don't need it here.

Thanks bud.Communications have been cutoff for the last 24 hours.Cayman Islands is VERY flat and right at sea level.According to the news people were on there roofs because of the storm surge. One big 30ft high wave could wipe out the whole island.Im sure there is a heavy death toll there.

Id want to die before living without her.Weve been going out over 2 years and are deeply in love.Shes sweetest, most sincere, honest woman youd ever meet..........

Please keep her and all myother friends down there in your prayers.

Forecast has the eye coming up the bay I live on. :(

Fortunally, they still don't have a clue where it will really go. I can only hope someone else gets pummeled. I hate to hope that, but this is looking bad. At least I got the homestead about ready. I've been cutting boards all night.

Bishir,

Here's my prediction: you're gonna get a direct hit or I'm gonna get a direct hit:mad: ! How's that for going "out on a limb"!

Call me Nostradumass:D !

I just got home. We're "pulling the plug" on the refinery today and tonight. Latest prediction is landfall around Mobile Bay @ 1 a.m. Thursday.

Good Luck to you and yours. If Becky (my wife) gets out of the hospital in time (RN) we're heading to Baton Rouge Wednesday night.

I have family in Pensacola, been down there before after hurricanes its a shame how bad you guys get hit when you get hit. Pretty much wipes out eveything on or near the beach front.

Stay safe & move the Turbo Regals to higher ground, let us know how you make out. Good Luck :(

Thanks, and good luck to those everywhere. At least with the current prediction Biloxi will be on the weak side, but if the storm stays at this strenght no side is going to really be weak. My house is across the street from water and the Blackwater Bay. Maximum elevation of the beach is 10feet which just happens to be how high my house is above the waterline. This storm has me worried and it's the first time I've boarded up windows.

Hey Bishir,
Get the GN to a safe place. I already know one guy who had his GN turned into a submarine - total loss. (But that's a different story.)
Get a few gas cans and fill them with gasoline.
Get a cheat chain saw from a pawn shop.
Stock up on bottled water.
Fill the tub and all the sinks with water so you can fill the toilet tank to flush.
Have plenty of heavy duty trash bags available.
Work gloves - leather.
Except for the chain saw, all of this is stuff you can effectively use if it turns out that you don't need it.
If it is feasable, drop a few hundred on an electric generator - at least 2,000 watts.
Good luck to you and the turbo Buick.

My family in Pensacola are up a bit higher then that just past route 10 off the Senic Highway in Escambia County. They are leaving for the storm. Looks like you guys will be in the worst side of the storm when it makes landfall. They don't want to stay because of the fear of Tornados & such. There going to head twords the Penisula after they are done boarding up.

Get the car & you family yo higher ground and if possible leave for the couple days. Again Good Luck, make sure you check in with us after its all over so we know everyone's ok down there.

Get out and head up to Bham while you still can.
I got a driveway for the GN..
Goodluck to everyone down there!!

Well, I'm boarded up and trying to decide on what to do. The GN is going to have to stay here in the garage with the 67 Mustang. Neither car is capable of going anywhere right now. Storm is starting to weaken some but 140mph is still no joke. I love living in Florida, but this stuff can take a toll. I wouldn't take many more to make us move. Lets hope our place makes this one!

James

Good luck and let us know how you make out. Hopefully it will be nothing more than a loss of power for a while.

Mark,

Thanks for the good thoughts. Having been through several big hurricanes, I can assure you it'll be more than a loss of electricity.
Never hurts to be optimistic, though. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Gotta go to work now, finish shutting down the plant.

Well boys it's headed my way, I live in Mobile and it looks like we're going to take a direct hit. I have the GN in the garage with the cover on it (and I have it insured for $15K worst case scenerio). I'll keep you informed as long as my internet connection hold's out....

Chris, we'll be thinking about you too. It could still turn and go a few miles in any direction. Hunker down!
