Just finished refurbishing a Hurst Lightning Rods shifter. It's a rare 4 handle unit with staging rod. Cleaned, lubed, small parts repaired, fabricated, and replaced.

It's a universal shifter that was sold in speed shops. It's a 3 speed unit.

So, what did you have to do to make the 3-speed shifter to work with 4-speed tranny?

Well, nothing actually. I sold it as a 3 speed unit.
I never took apart a 4 speed unit, so I don't know if the difference is just the shifter gate, or if the main shaft is different, with the hole locations for the pins different.
