almost every small block chevy from the factory came like this since 86.....

worked fine. Dont know how it would effect the buick motor though

I run that set up and have had no problems.
Hope it helps, Kip

Stock Rockers

Hi Kip,
Running a roller with stock rockers, how do you know how much lifter pre load to run. Also what type of roller are you running? The reason why i ask because I seen you run impressive numbers at the last Southeast social.
Peachs;)

I run a hydrolic roller with stock rockers on my GN. No problems. Lifter preload with stock rockers is all in the pushrod length. Make sure your valves are all seated the same height (place a straight edge across the top of the valves to see if they are all touching the straight edge). If they are, use an adjustable pushrod on one of the valves and set your preload to what you prefer. Order 16 pushrods that length and you'll be good to go.

P.S. I would get the RJC rocker shaft braces to make sure when you tighten the rocker shaft that you will not bend or break it. Here is a link for the braces: http://www.rjcracing.com/RJC_Buick_Products/RJC_Rocker_Shaft_Braces/rjc_rocker_shaft_braces.html

I have 20K miles hard miles with the mentioned setup and no problems.

Peachs, I use a Crane 214/210. I do use an upgraded rocker shaft instead of the factory pieces. I don't use the RJC pieces. Hope this helps.
See ya, Kip
