why does everybody i heat say hypereutectic (sp?) piston suck for forced induction applications? arent these the types of pistons we have in our cars from the factory? it seems a lot of guys are running very good times on these "crappy pistons".

Kind of... The stockers have inserts under the piston top in the pin area and also the top ring groove. If you are going to run over 23 PSI or so on a regular basis or 10's often a forged unit fits the bill. I see no problems with running hypers in the low 11's or high 10's and under 23 PSI. I know some personally doing it and I will be here shortly. They may be a little less forgiving but if you let things get out of hand the head gaskets, bearings, etc... all take a hit so just keep things in check like you should and you will be fine. One more thing.... they need to be set up correctly for our application to prevent problems.

HYPER PISTONS

I say they should work fine just don't let your car run lean. :D
