Well after chasing every lead in the tri-county area for a week and a half I have come to the conclusion that Max, my White Siberian Husky has been stolen. This was confirmed when I went to the police station to fill out a stolen property report. It seems that there have been several other Siberian Husky's stolen in the area in the past 2 years:eek: . I'm so pi$$ed I could kill the S@& that took him. Thankfully my 16 month old little girl has not gotten too upset, but she does still call him when she goes into the back yard. We miss you Max, come home if you can.

Wow, very sorry to hear about that! My dog is also named Max (half Chow half Lab) and I would certainly want to kill somebody if they took him, but luckily he's not exactly friendly to strangers so it would never happen.... Hope they find the scumbags that took him and that you get him back!

microchip microchip microchip.

We have a siberian husky too... Love him like one of our kids. He is THE best dog I could imagine having.

When we were traveling and in the Tahoe area, my wife took him in to get his shots. They took him in back to weigh him and then came back out and asked for her ID. Kodi was registered in my name and she keeps her maiden name... so she had to give them all of my info before they would release him to her.

Most vets will chip them for about 50 bucks.

I wish you the best trying to get him back... don't give up.

How old of a dog? We have a standard poddle that is worth some money if it were a puppy, don't see why anyone would steal a full grown dog, but I know it happens. I too would kill someone for taking our dog, its like our child. Not to mention they would kill it by stealing it cause it must take seizure meds.

me and a friend in the service both got out pitbulls around the same time, i guess some kids came to ask if his was for sale one day, his girlfriend told them no, and when she went out to feed the puppy it was gone, the kids stole it, its a real big problem with the "fighting" dogs, cause people have nothing invested in the dog, and teh will street fight the poor thing till its dead, i would beak a dog thief to an inch of thier pitiful life if i ever caught one.

AZ Vic - Max is microchipped and I have alerted AKC companion services. Funny thing is that I saw a clip on the local news this morning about a Lab that was returned to it's orginal owners after 2 years thanks to being microchipped. I hope I'm that lucky, only in a much shorter time frame.
2QUIK6 - Max is 6 1/2 years old. According to the police, most older dogs are stolen for one of two purposes. The first is to be used by puppy mill as a breeder if they supect the dog is a pure breed. A "new bloodline" as they put it. The second is the dog is used for "pratice kills" by people who use their dogs for fighting.

Hearing that someone stole your dog makes sick to my stomach. I just got to work and now I want to run home and make sure my 6 year old Lab is ok. I am really sorry to hear that Max was stolen, I hope that he is returned safely to you. My dog (Goose) has been with me since he was 5 weeks old and it has been just the two of the whole time, we are family, and I would do anything to protect him. I am sure you feel the same way about Max, so I can truely emphathize with your loss. Good luck and if you find out who did it and need help with an "attitude adjustment" let me know I am only a few hours away!

I lost

A young German Shephard pup, about 4 months old. Registered to boot.

Come to find out a off white mid 80s chevy van with florida plates was pulling a little trailer that said "outback kennells" or something like that.

We noticed the van was setting at our local quick shop for several days. What they were doing was driving town looking for dogs that were young enough to steal.

They (we think) ended up getting about 10 dogs.

My question is why in the h**l they would drive so far (Kansas) to get 10 damn dogs:confused:

we have a problem with 2 chubby little girls in the neighborhood taking home other neighbors dogs, there elevator don't go to the top floor. they usualy bring them back in a few hours.:) they took one of ours several months ago, now they have about 3 acres fenced in. ( the dogs, not the little girls ) :D

wish you the best of luck finding you 4 legged child.

The first one I can stomach....the second reason I can think of a few things I would be practicing on any theif stealing dogs for that  cut their balls off and stuff 'em down their throat, then let the meanest neighborhood dogs bite them and tear at them till they're dead.....practice that dog thieves!!

i have had a dog shot by a pissed off neighbor and it still sucks to think about it. i hope you find your dog and the people that took him. on a lighter note i found a stray the other day and fed him bad idea i think i now own a chiwawa(sp).

That would really chap by butt royaly. A dog is considered with many to be highly part of a family including me. It's just wrong for people to do things like this.

Hope you get your dog back soon, as I know your little girl really misses him.

Man, after reading these posts, it never ceases to amaze me what kind of low life scumsuckers live on this planet.

Using stolen dogs as "practice kills"?
Dog fighting in general for gambling?

Some people just contribute to society becoming the cesspool that it rapidly is, and they just shouldn't be considered worth the air they breathe.

I would become completely un-glued if I ever found someone stealing my car, never mind a beloved member of my family that a pet is.

Dude, I hope you get your Husky back soon....best wishes to you, keeping my fingers crossed.

Steve

Man, I wish you the best of luck getting your dog back! I've had a yellow lab for 7 years and couldn't imagine life without him, but have always wanted a Husky or Malimute, it's just too hot for them in the south...or so I've been told.

I feel for you 6appeal. I had a male and female couple Siberians and as you know, they love to run. I had to chase them down several times. Everytime I did I had other people also chasing them and they told me their dogs were running loose. LMAO. They were rather shocked when I told them, "sorry, I have the papers on them, so I would back off if I were you." I hope you have good luck in tracking your's down. Someone will take him out for a run sometime and you will find him.

I can't even think of such thing, makes me sick. There went my life..................... My 2 Huskies never leave my sight, I base my life around them. I think they know how good they have it and always will......

I hope to god you find him. The one prayer you need to come true.................

Mine does fine here in AZ... just blows his coat twice a year. You wouldn't believe how much fur they lose when it starts getting hot outside.

You have to allow them to get acclimated (sp?) to the weather though... you can't have them inside in the A/C for 2 weeks during the day when it is hot and then just leave them outside one day... too much shock to their system.

Mine has an auto waterer as well as a little tub he crawls in when it gets hot... shade too - they need that to get out of the sun.

One of the best family dogs I have ever had.

Oh and they DO RUN! They are bred to work and boy... they haul it if they are let off leash or get out of the gate. Be prepared for sure.

Vic

All 6 of my Siberians are chipped. I feel terrible for your loss. My wife is always freaked out when another Sibe gets swiped.

We have a camera mounted on the side of the house watching the outdoor portion of their kennels. Usually I just review it to see how much fun they had during the day but if anyone were to climb the fence in the backyard (it has a hotwire on it) and approach the kennel.....I would have them on film.

I am pretty sure anybody my wife catches trying to steal one of our 'kids' will never be seen again. We feed raw meat and they would end up in little bags in the freezer.

It's nice to find out that there are other people just as passionate about their pets as my family. Max was trained to not leave the yard. I could leave the gate open and he would just stand at the opening and look at me. When I broke out the leash and harness, he would just about pull my shoulder out of socket despite being small for a male (about 45 lbs).

My neighbor just about broke down into tears last night as she watched my daughter walk around the yard calling Max. This has been extremely tough for my wife and I since we had to have our other Husky who was 13 years old put down about this time last year after an 8 year battle with seizures. Thanks for all the support.
John
