You got a good, and efficient, bodyguy! NICE work! But Uh-Oh, the 5-O showed up!

Funny how it's ALL in the prep. Everybody looks at the candy coated topping and thinks Oooo Wow, but in reality, paint's the absolute least creative part of building a car. You have to be a good robot to lay down a good covering. Everything that comes before and after that is what makes or breaks the completed project. You're lookin Good!

Randy is a great body guy, I had no idea how much work went into fixing panels the correct way. I always had an option of doing it right or "buttering it up" he was never crazy about going the cheap route. When the car came back from the blaster I wanted to scrap the whole project, I even offered to give the car back to the previous owner for free. Randy kept saying, "don't worry about it", just wait" glad I did. The previous owner came over the other day and asked if the deal was still good. No, sorry, not now should have struck when the iron was hot.

Also, if you look in the cars for sale section you will find an ad from me trying to trade this project off. It got no action, I only owed the body guy a couple of grand too. I'm happy nobody was interested, because I would have traded this thing off for next to nothing.

Yes, the police are there everyday, can't seem to shake em.

It's painted

All painted up, getting sanded and buffed.
Not everyone will agree with the stripes but I love them.

Motor, tranny, exhaust are all in. The glass guy is coming today to install windshield and rear window. I'll probably drag it home this week and finish it up when it gets warm. I'm kind of a sissy anymore.

Got the serpentine belt set up all together. Still trying to figure out exactly what to do about that top radiator hose.

God, is that beautiful. Red has always been my favorite color, and red Chevelles are just as boss as you can get. What a beauty! Thanks for sharing, I really miss those days when these cars were seen (and heard;)) all of the time on the road.
