yea i need motor sites and performance stuff trying to make a high horsepower gn to shut some ricers up here...also catching some bs about the car not running and this and that and all help will be greatful...

Where are you located? You need to find someone near you that knows how to make these cars run. If you dont have a motor in the car, make sure you have plenty of $$$. These cars are not cheap to buy parts for.

An 85 GN has what is called a "hot air" motor, which means that it is NOT intercooled.....These motors are not as fast as the intercooled ones, and those that are, usually requires a good amount of money.....It's going to be asked of you so I will skip the drama and ask you now......"How fast can you AFFORD to go?" If you are looking for a daily driver 11 sec GN, my advice would be to pull the engine and start looking for a good shortblock on this board....or a block and start the build up yourself.....Also you need to start researching and learning the nuances about these cars.....Turbo Regal Web Site is an excellent place to start......You also need to start knowing the differences between the hot air motors and the intercooled motors, because the differences extend to more than just intercoolers.....the opinions will vary, some say the webbing in the valley of a hot air block is weaker and therefore does not lend itself to living up to very low second times.....(9's, 10's etc) but if you are building a pure street car, there won't be any point of going nine or ten seconds either.....To make an extremely long story short......it all amounts to one thing you need to get started on..

Research..

I hope this helps and good luck

Well said. DON'T be afraid to ask questions!!! Seems to me, all the guys that will respond on this board know their s#!t and are more than willing to help. I'm still kinda new to TR's and I have learned more in the last 5 months of being on this board than I thought I would learn in 5 years!! If you decide to keep it a Hot Air, check out the Hot Air section---Brad Padgett, Jerryl, and Brent (Boost231) know their stuff! Good Luck!!

im looking for info on a coverison to a 86/87 top end setup so i can make some decent power.......looken fora low 12 high 11 street car

Unless you can find an 86-87 donor car it is a long uphill battle. Hot air cars can be tweeked, but much more difficult than a intercooled set-up. Unless the body is pristine I would..

(whispering)transplant a small block v8 in it.
Cheap, easy to do, available, and eay to build.
